
Our Varsity Baseball team has advanced to the second round of playoffs! This week, they will face Lovelady at Lufkin High School. Game One will be this Wednesday at 6PM and Game 2 will be on Thursday at 6PM. If game three is needed that will be held on Saturday at 2PM.
Remember, tickets can be purchased online,, or at the gate with a credit/debit card but NO CASH will be accepted!

There has been a slight change to the Boys' Baseball Playoff games this week. Instead of Game 1 being on Friday, it has been shifted to tomorrow, May 1st at Lufkin Hudson HS at 5PM. If you pre-purchased tickets for Friday's game, you should be receiving a refund. At this time, pre-purchasing is no longer available for Game 1, please remember the stadium is card only. Applications for out-of-district transfers for new and returning students are now open and being accepted for the 2025-2026 school year! Transfer forms can be picked up at the Elementary or High School front offices, and you can view the form under the student registration page on our website; https://www.garyisd.org/page/student-registration

We want to give a huge shout out to our very own Mr. John! John P. Smith returned to Centenary during the Summer of 2024 to get his bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Smith originally enrolled in Centenary in 1988 and will receive his diploma during Commencement on May 3, 2025. The Gary Baseball Bi-District games against West Sabine are set for Friday, May 2nd at 8PM and Saturday, May 3rd at 4PM (with a third game if needed that evening)! The games will be held at the Lufkin High School Baseball Complex, and you can pre-purchase your tickets at the following links;

One of our 2025 graduates, Greyson Arwine, was selected at Panola College to attend the 2025 All-Texas Academic Team Medallion Ceremony in San Antonio last Friday! Greyson is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and received this honor for demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and service while attending Panola College! Gary OAP is State Bound! This will be the program's 5th time going to state under the direction of Michael Powell and Tina Tate. Our students also earned multiple awards for the night!

Today, Gary will host Onalaska for a warm-up baseball game that will begin at 5:30PM! While this isn't a district or playoff game, we would love for everyone to come out and cheer our boys on!

Gary’s Rockets class have spent the spring semester designing and building three rockets. From design to implementation, these students have had to collaborate every step of the way to develop a rocket that would pass all safety requirements, and properly take off without any room for error! We are proud of all three teams as all three rockets were successfully launched yesterday in Jacksboro!

Gary HS will be hosting a Hitter's Camp June 9th-10th for Girls' Volleyball for students in JH and HS, this includes girls who will start 7th grade next year. Check out the flyer for more details!

Tomorrow, our 8th graders will be taking the 8th Math STAAR test. We ask that students please bring their Chromebooks and chargers, and no outside food or drinks, we will provide a snack and water for all students!

Tomorrow, our 5th graders will be taking the Science STAAR test at Elementary and our 7th-9th graders will be taking the 7th Math and Algebra I EOC STAAR exams at Secondary. We hope everyone gets a good night’s rest and is ready to do their best! A snack and water will be provided and Secondary students should bring their Chromebook and charger, and no outside food or drinks!
