Gary ISD would like to give a HUGE shout-out and thank you to Torey McLemore of We Care East Texas. Torey, along with many other generous donors, presented $2,500 to our cafeteria to be applied to accounts for our Gary ISD students.

While we do not have a full list of every donor, if you were part of this effort, please know how grateful we are. Thank you so very much for supporting our students and families. Your kindness and generosity are truly beyond measure.

We have a great group of Habit Heroes to celebrate today! Congratulations to Callie, Jensen, Elaina and Jessa for being proactive and helping their class with taking care of spills, trash and chairs without being asked!

Our littles had a great time celebrating the 101st day of school today with a little 101 Dalmatians parade!

Families of Seniors, we are still taking orders for senior ads for the yearbook! If you would like to purchase one, the forms can be filled out at the high school front office!

🌸 Floral Design Fun in Full Bloom! 🌸

Mrs. Creech’s Floral Design classes created their very first arrangements today as we gear up for Valentine’s Day! 💝 These fun lollipop arrangements gave students the chance to practice several skills they’ve been learning — and they did a fantastic job.

Next up: fresh flowers! 🌿 In March, students will design their first fresh flower arrangements just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Stay tuned to see their creativity continue to grow!

8th graders and parents, you are invited to attend our annual Freshman Orientation meeting on Tuesday, February 24th at 5PM in the GISD Cafeteria. We will go over all things high school including graduation requirements, programs, endorsements, and dual credit! Students will also be able to fill out their form choosing their courses for next year at this time. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to our latest Habit Hero, Kodi, for always thinking win-win in the classroom. Kodi helps her class by keeping track of water bottles so nobody has to lose class time picking them up later, and she does all of this without being asked!

Tomorrow is our first home Baseball scrimmage game against East Texas Home School at 5:30PM and our Class of 2029 has released their concessions menu, we hope to see you there!

Yesterday, Mr. Cranford from the Gary Masonic Lodge met with the 1st graders to talk about dental hygiene and provide toothbrush kits to the students!

We had a great time at our Senior Pep Rally! Thank you to all the family members and friends that came out to celebrate our seniors, and we hope to see everyone tonight for our games!

We are still taking Val-o-gram orders! For $5, the Val-o-gram has a drink, lollipop, sunglasses, fruit roll up, slime and a balloon! Orders can be dropped off at the Elementary or High School offices.

For tonight's games our concession stand will be offering root beer floats for $4 until the ice cream runs out!

Congratulations to our January Elementary Students of the Month! We love all the great things our students are doing both in and out of class!

Let's cheer for our latest Habit Hero, Levi! Levi took initiative to support a teacher with a spill before it got everywhere and caused problems!

There's still time to order a little Valentine's treat with our Val-o-grams! Order forms are due on Tuesday, February 10th and can be dropped off at the Elementary or HS offices.

Kindergarten has officially kicked off the 100 Sight Word Club for reading and the Counting and Writing to 100 Club for math. Students will work toward these goals in increments of 25, building strong foundations step by step. Each time a student reaches a milestone, we’ll recognize them with a shoutout.

This Tuesday we are going to celebrate our seniors! Everyone is invited to our Senior Pep Rally Tuesday, February 10th at 1PM in the high school gym, and be sure to come out that night as our basketball teams take on Joaquin with JV starting at 5PM!

The Keith Carr Memorial Scholarship Foundation provides support for Gary seniors every year by awarding scholarships from funds generously donated and created during their Crawfish Boil. This year's event will be held on Saturday, March 28th at the Lake Murvaul Marina starting at 11AM!
