
Tomorrow, 8th grade and 9th grade students will be taking the 8th English and English I EOC STAAR tests. We ask that students please arrive on time with their Chromebook and charger, and please do not bring any outside food or drinks other than water. We will provide a snack and drink for every student!

Eleven students on three Gary FFA Forestry teams, trained by Ms. Shadix traveled to the District Forestry Contest at the Double AA Hunting Ranch in Carthage today to compete for a chance at qualifying for the State Forestry Contest next Thursday, April 17th.
This is Ms. Shadix’ first year training the FFA Forestry teams after competing on the Gary Forestry Team for four years in high school while attending Gary herself. Her team was extremely successful, placing 3rd in the state her senior year and advancing to the Four States Forestry Contest in 2002.

The Gary FFA Horse Judging Team, trained by Ms. Shadix traveled to the Area 6 FFA Horse judging Contest on Monday, April 7th to compete for a chance at advancing to the State Horse Judging Contest. Area 6 has over 100 FFA Teams and only five teams have the privilege of advancing.

Pre-K Roundup is almost here! Come on out and visit Gary Elementary on Thursday, April 17th from 10AM-2PM in the Library where you can visit with our Pre-Kindergarten staff and learn about all the great things Gary Elementary does to help our kids become amazing leaders! The Elementary is selling Bunny Grams this year, available to all students at GISD, that will be delivered to students on April 16th! If you would like to purchase one, order forms can be picked up at the Elementary office and money is due on April 11th!


Parents, our 1st grade students will present a Fabulous Fairy Tale Puppet Show on Thursday, April 10th at 9:30AM in the GISD Cafeteria! We hope y'all can come and see what our students have created!


Don't forget, the Easter Bunny will be visiting the Elementary campus tomorrow for pictures for just $5! Extra forms will be sent home today!

We are rescheduling the baseball game for today. We are going to play against Chireno here at Gary at 4:30PM! Come on out and support our boys!

We want to wish a happy Paraprofessional Day to all of the incredible paraprofessionals at Gary ISD! Your hard work and dedication make a difference every day, and we are truly grateful for everything y'all do!

It may be spring break but we still have students dedicating their time for Gary ISD! On day one of the district track meet our HS Track team had two members advance to area! Thomas Philley advanced in the 3200 meter finishing 4th, and Evan Chamness finished fourth in the shot put.
Additionally, Noah Sonnier finished second in the JV two mile, 400, and 1600 meter and Cheyenne Woodfin finished sixth in the 3200.
Today, we had three athletes finish in the top four, and they will compete in the area meet next week! Koby Bell finished third in the 400 meter, Thomas Philley finished fourth in the 2 mile and mile, and Evan Chamness finished fourth in the shot put. Cheyenne Woodfin placed 6th in the 2 mile and Bella Chapman placed 6th in the mile.
