Last night we had the privilege of watching our Kindergarteners and 8th Graders transition to the next phase of their school careers! We love these students so much and can’t wait to see how they continue to grow and become great leaders in our community!

One of our future 9th graders, Colee Joe Soape has been having an amazing run this year and has made it to state in rodeo events for Poles, Team Roping, Breakaway, Ribbon Roping, and Girls' Goat Tying! The state finals are held May 26th to June 1st, and we hope Colee can keep her streak going!

Fifth and sixth grade student lighthouse members had a wonderful and meaningful time serving yesterday at the Highway 80 Rescue Mission in Longview. We were given a tour of their facilities, served lunch, cleaned up, and shared some very special moments with the staff and guests. Big thanks for our 2nd grade students for their generous clothing by donations!

We just wrapped up our 2nd year at the Region 7 Robotics Competition, and coaches Mr. Mark, Mrs. Brittney, and Mr. Isaac couldn't be prouder of their teams! Massive shoutout to our incredible students, parents, and administrators for making it all happen. 🤖 #ProudCoach #Region7 #RoboticsCompetition

This year at the Elementary, students were encouraged to read and take AR tests to reach 1,000,000 words, and we had a few that reached that goal! To celebrate the milestone of 250,000 words read, Mrs. Cranford held a bubble party. To celebrate the milestone of 500,000 words read, she took the readers to a Nerf battle at Legacy. To our special students that reached 1,000,000 words read, they got to go on a trip to Books a Million and eat lunch out in Longview! Congratulations to all of our readers that participated in these challenges this year!

Congratulations to our May Elementary Students of the Month!

Last night's Senior Night was one for the books! The class may be small, but we know these seniors will do big and great things! Congratulations to all of the scholarship and honors recipients, can't wait to see every one of these students walk the stage for graduation on Friday!

It may have been too rainy to have Field Day outside, but that didn't stop us from having some fun today! Huge thank you to Mrs. Daniels for getting everything organized, and for Mrs. LaGrone and Mr. Isaac for hosting the inside field day shenanigans!

We have state bound tennis players! Congratulations to Aubrey Kennedy and Makayla Woodfin, as well as Cooper Johnson and Mason Powell! They will be in San Antonio this Thursday for the state finals!

Our seniors are special and have worked hard to finish strong at Gary High School. Particularly, we have three graduates that went above and beyond to earn an Associate degree at Panola College! These three, in addition to their regular high school coursework, completed over 60 hours each in college courses, often during breaks and during the summer. We are incredibly proud of their effort and determination, and can't wait to see them succeed at the university level!
Congratulations to Aubrey Kennedy, Keeghan Roberts, and Makayla Woodfin for earning your Associate degree at Panola College!

Congratulations to all of our April Elementary Students of the Month!

Yesterday, our US History students went to the Holocaust Museum in Dallas with Mrs. Umbrell.

The annual Gary ISD Field Day will be next Monday, May 13th as long as the weather is fine! Check out the flyer for the schedule!

Our Junior High students have been working very hard this year, and next Monday at 9:35 in the high school gym we will have our awards ceremony to celebrate their success!

We appreciate our wonderful nurses at Gary ISD!

Our school board visited the campuses today to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with some delicious cupcakes for all of the staff!

Gary FFA held its annual end of the year banquet on Monday, May 6th, but for some of our members, the competition year isn’t over yet!
Tuesday, May 7th McKenzie Coleman and Caitlynn Ayers traveled to the Longview FFA District Speaking Contest in Henderson to present their “prepared speeches” to judges (Ag Teachers from across the district) in hopes of advancing to the Area Competition.
MCKENZIE DID JUST THAT!! SHE HAS ADVANCED TO THE AREA CONTEST!!
As a freshman, McKenzie has researched an Agricultural topic that interests her (methane gas production and tracking), wrote and memorized a 7 minute speech including facts, how it relates to her locally, how it affects the world globally, and has studied for possible questions to be asked over the topic.
There are 23 schools in our FFA District and those schools can enter several students in each category.
MCKENZIE WAS 2nd OVERALL!!
Caitlynn placed 5th in her division and we are extremely proud of her hard work also!
We are excited about this accomplishment and can’t wait to see what McKenzie does at Area on Saturday, May 18th.

The seniors got the high school good today! They also let everyone know this was their parking lot! 🤣

As we get closer to the end of the year, we want to have a moment to spotlight the seniors and our kindergartners! Our senior walk at the Elementary will be this Thursday at 9AM!

The Varsity Baseball boys are off to the second round of playoffs against Douglass this Thursday at Carthage High School starting at 5PM, with the second game to follow! Please check out the following map and flyer for parking instructions! Let's all get out there and cheer our boys on!
