Gary had a GREAT DAY at the District Tennis Tournament after a long stretch of games from Monday, March 30th to Wednesday, April 1st!

Today, students from Mrs. Creech’s Floral Design class had an exciting first as they competed in the Beckville FFA Easter Bunny Floral Cup Contest! 🌸🐰
Participants were given a selection of flowers and just one hour to design and create their own arrangement—completely independently. This marked the first time these students have taken on a full design challenge without guidance, and they rose to the occasion with creativity and confidence.
They had an incredible time, and we are so proud of their hard work and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. We can’t wait to see what they create next! 🌿✨

Yesterday members of the Gary FFA Horse Judging Team competed at the Henderson Invitational horse judging CDE contest. Emorie Comer, Emma Young and Braley Weems had a successful day as a team and Emorie was 1st place high individual out of 193 contestants! If you see these students congratulate them on a great day and wish them luck as they will be competing at Area next Monday.

Gary High School is holding a 'Make Life Suite' raffle for suite access to the June 18th Texas Rangers game against the Minnesota Twins! The suite includes tickets for up to 25 people, 6 parking passes and a $600 food credit! Tickets for the raffle are $50 each, and only 150 raffle tickets will be sold. Raffle begins March 30th and ends April 12th with the winner announced on April 17th. If interested, contact the high school office to purchase a ticket!

On Wednesday, March 25, 4 students represented Gary High School at SFA for the academic District UIL meet. JoAnna Newman and Daxton Evans competed in Oral Interpretation, JoAnna in Poetry and Daxton in Prose. McKenzie Coleman competed in Ready Writing, Copy Editing, News Writing, Editorial Writing, and Headline Writing. Emma Young competed in Copy Editing, News Writing, Editorial Writing, and Headline Writing!

There is a menu change for next Monday, March 30th. Instead of tater tot casserole we will be having beef tips and rice.
In the elementary school, classrooms with all students present earn a letter to spell out perfect attendance. Mrs. Winters and her students earned a pajama day with 17 days of all students present for class. Enjoy your comfy day!

There are some changes to this week’s baseball games. Tomorrow’s home game against San Augustine remains unchanged with Varsity playing at 6PM. Friday’s game at Woden will be Varsity only and will start at 6PM. We will also host a game against Huntington on Saturday starting at 11AM!
