Our Cheerleaders have been out and about helping car riders!

Congratulations to our December SOTM leaders at Gary Elementary! We are proud of all the hard work our students are doing!

The Elementary Library will be collecting home made Valentine's Day cards to deliver to Carthage nursing homes until next Tuesday! Many students have already completed and turned theirs in, but if students would like to make more just visit the Library today!

We are getting closer and closer to the 100th day of school, but it had to be changed due to the bad weather days last week! We can’t wait to see all the 100 year olds and 100 thing shirts on Thursday, February 1st!

Our Senior Pep Rally will be next Friday, February 2nd at 1:00PM! Seniors need to come with their sign, and be sure to wear tennis shoes! We hope the parents of our seniors can also come out to celebrate!

GISD is closely monitoring the weather and still plans to start school at our normal schedule. We understand that some in the community live on roads that may not be safe to drive on at this time. Remember, do not drive through water over the road; turn around, don’t drown. If you cannot travel safely, all we ask is that you call us in the morning and let us know that your child will not be present. Thank you and stay safe!

The Carthage Soccer Association is now accepting signups for their Spring league. Registration is open until February 9th!

GHS Cheer is holding a coat/jacket and blanket drive to help out our community. You can drop off any new or unused coat or blanket to Mrs. Baker's room!

Tonight's games at Tenaha will also feature $10 meals at their Tiger Cafe for those interested! The main selections are; fried fish, chicken strips, and boiled shrimp. Each meal comes with fries or baked potato, coleslaw, and a tea. Their regular concessions stand will also be open.

Senior parents, it's scholarship season! Today in class, all seniors received the first scholarship packet as well as instructions for applying to our local scholarships. They also received an email with a link to a digital copy of all the scholarships discussed today! The first packet is due to Mr. Davis by February 13th! The FAFSA is now open for all students to apply, and while we will have a FAFSA night in February, we encourage all families to begin the application as soon as possible. As always, if you have any questions please contact Mr. Davis!

Tomorrow's Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball games at Tenaha will start at 6PM! We hope to see everyone there!

If you would like to sign up ahead of time for this Friday's Blood Drive, please go to the following link to register; https://donor.lifeshare.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/266273

Our next Blood Drive now has a new date; Friday, January 26th! We will post the sign-up link soon!

We apologize for being so behind on posting our Elementary SOTM's, but here were our selected students from October and November! We are so proud of all the hard work our students are doing at GES!

The next Gary 4H meeting will be held on Monday, January 22 at 6PM in the GISD Cafeteria!

Due to the weather, Gary ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 17th. We will resume our normal schedule on Thursday, January 18th. Stay safe and warm!

Tomorrow’s Blood Drive has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date!

Tonight’s JV and Varsity basketball games against Mt. Enterprise have been canceled.

Due to adverse weather, we will not have school on Tuesday, January 16. As of now, we plan on resuming our normal schedule on Wednesday. Stay safe and warm out there!

On Thursday, Gary FFA traveled with 29 FFA Members to the Longview District FFA Convention at Beckville High School. A district convention is an event held to celebrate the years accomplishments, elect district, area and state officer candidates and hosts the “FFA Talent Contest.”
The talent contest is open to ANY talent students may have from playing instruments, tap dancing, twirling to singing. All of the 23 schools in the district can enter and compete! This year Gary FFA had their FIRST EVER Talent Team enter the district contest!
This team sang two songs in front of a crowd of OVER 400 students, teachers and guests and did AMAZING! Congratulations to these students on their history-making performance:
